EDUCATION

The Southern Appalachian International Film Festival (SOAPIFF) is many mini festivals in conjunction with lectures, seminars, and exhibits. It is one of our prime goals to educate and enlighten the Southern Appalachian region about issues, cultures, and stories that surround them locally and in our ever-shrinking world. Any organization in Southern Appalachia that would like to educate an audience with the latest in time-based media may choose from all or just one of our genres screens and SOAPIFF will bring them to you with a curator who is capable of generating intelligent discussion.  We supply educators with a list of films in August that can be integrated into their curriculum maximizing the educational experience with contemporary takes on a variety of issues for both secondary and higher education levels.  By exposing educators to films we hope that they will encourage their institutions to purchase these films for their collections from the distributor or production company, benefiting both the institution and the independent filmmaker.
