SOAPIFF is a non-profit organization recgonized by the state of Tennessee.
Most non-profit organization can not function without the help of donations from the public, and other businesses and organizations SOAPIFF appreciates every single contribution. Whether it’s a donation in cash, anin-kind gift or sounsorship of our screens. Each donation improves the success of our film festival and brings us closer to our goals. One of our goals is to support the creative work of moviemakers by exposure, promotion and preservation of their movies. In order to attract the widest audience; movie screenings at SOAPIFF are presented FREE, in Educational venues, to the public.

SOAPIFF is always looking for volunteers.
Assistant to Cinema Curator: SOAPIFF runs 6 Theaters covering 13 screen genres over ten days. As an Assistant to the Cinema Curator you will assist in the distribution of the Dishmag.com Audience Award ballets and their collection at the end of the screening. You will also be required to do a head count during the film. At the end of each screening day the assistant will make sure the theater is clean and any lost items are turned into campus security.
Event Hostess/Host(s),
Wait Staff, Bartenders.
Door Ticket Sales:
Our Opening Gala and the Halloween Hollywood Hootenanny will need a Host/Hostess to greet, check guest list, and take donations and/or tickets at the door.
Event Managers:
2 major events, two managers needed. These events have catering, serve wine and beer, and have live entertainment. You will need to manage volunteers that bartend and catering staff, as well as wait staff to serve and collect empty containers and plates from the room.
Cinema Curators:
Are you an expert or just crazy about animation, children’s films, cultural minority film subjects, or independent narrative cinema. You will be required to watch films that will be coming our way and selecting the best for the festival. You must be able to speak in public and introduce each film to the audience. You may also be required to lead a discussion about the film after its screening. You will be trained in the operation of projection equipment.
Merchandise Booth Sales: Popcorn, Candy, and Soda as well as programs and T-shirts that will be available this year. Must be capable of customer service and making change. You will also be treated like an information booth, so a map with directions will be provide to you to assist our patrons.
Poster Posters:
Poster posters are needed to post SOAPIFF’s 2009 posters in the following cities: Abingdon, VA - Asheville, NC - Blacksburg, VA - Blowing Rock, NC - Boone, NC - Bristol, - TN/VA - Burnsville, NC - Elizabethton, TN - Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN - Greenville, SC - Greeneville, TN - Hazard, KY - Hendersonville, NC - Kingsport, TN - Knoxville, TN - Mars Hill, NC - Maryville, TN - Morristown, TN, - Roanoke, VA - Wise, VA and all places in-between and beyond.
The definition of In-kind:
Payment made in the form of goods and services, rather than cash. Payments in kind are often made in the form of a concession or special privileges.
SOAPIFF, for your in-kind product(s) and/or service(s), will locate your business’ logo on the sponsors slide (showing prior to the beginning of each feature or collection of short films), on the SOAPIFF website, poster, and tickets to our Opening Gala and our Hollywood Halloween Hootenanny.
